The Show Ends, But the Evening Goes On

From dinner meetings and dancing at clubs to retail therapy and relaxing in a hot tub, make your evenings in Anaheim as successful as your days at MD&M West

Anaheim became a destination point because of Disneyland, but this former peaceful farm town has since grown into the 10th-largest city in California. And it has all the amenities and nightlife to prove it. After a day at MD&M West, whether you need to relax by yourself or host a business meeting over dinner, Anaheim has what you need.

Restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, and live music venues are scattered throughout the area surrounding the convention center. Jill Brofman, marketing manager for labeling systems provider Labeltronix, which operates out of neighboring Orange, sums up the fun: “Downtown Disney is always a nice attraction,” she says. “ESPN Zone and the House of Blues are great places to relax and get a drink. The [Block at Orange] is also nearby [and has] tons of shopping and other chain restaurants.”

Both Downtown Disney and The Block have movie theaters and shopping. If you’re in the mood for live music, The House of Blues at Downtown Disney will be featuring a range of rock and R&B acts during the week of MD&M West. If you’d rather take your colleagues out to blow off some steam and have some fun, check out The Block: Dave & Buster’s has billiards; Lucky Strike Lanes offers bowling with a retro lounge-style atmosphere (beware the dress code is strictly enforced); and The Power House has laser tag in addition to the latest video games.

Popular local nightclubs include Music City, which was once owned by the Righteous Brothers, and The Boogie Nightclub, which boasts four dance floors and two bars. But if you’re not looking to dance holes in your shoes between days at the trade show, enjoy dinner out and then go relax at your hotel.
