Coastal Life Technologies (CLT; San Antonio, TX), an outsource manufacturer and distributor of sterile single-use medical devices, has opened the doors to its new 40,000-sq-ft headquarters.

“We were unable to continue to grow in our old locations,” says general manager David Huff. “We were in four different locations, which was very inefficient. The new facility consolidates all operations under one roof."

Huff and company president Paul Muller were heavily involved in the design of the facility. In addition to accommodating company growth and customer needs, the new design incorporates the latest technologies and building methods to optimize quality control and efficiency, according to Muller. “The building was built for us and to our specifications, and houses all of our operations,” Huff says.

Highlights include an 8000-sq-ft Class 8 cleanroom, more than 20,000 sq ft of climate-controlled warehouse space, a computerized tracking system for distribution, and additional growth capacity.

The company specializes in the assembly, packaging, and sterilization of disposable devices. Capabilities that will be offered at the plant include design and engineering, raw material management, final assembly and sterile packaging, management of the sterilization process, and product warehousing and distribution. The company is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13458:2003 certified.
