A. Bleeds and Spreads: Keep live matter 3/8" from trim, head, foot, and binding edge. Keep crop marks outside of live area.
B. Mecanical Requirements: Offset film negatives (right reading, emulsion-side down). Positive film accepted. Screen recommendation for black and white or 2-color: 133 recommended, 120 acceptable; for 4-color: 133 recommended. Charges will apply for materials requiring alterations, conversion (i.e., positive film), composition, reducing, or enlarging. Screen density: 280% recommended, 300% maximum for 4-color process advertising. C. Guidance Material: For 4-color advertising, supply one MatchPrint, Chromalin, or similar proof with color bars on publication proofing stock. Full comprehensive and progressive proofs are also acceptable. Thermal, ink-jet, laser and dye-sublimation color proofs are not acceptable. Charges may be incurred for materials without the appropriate color guidance proofs. D. Paper Stock: Publication is printed on 45-lb coated text stock with 80-lb coated cover stock. E. Shipment of Materials: Material must be separately slip-sheeted, securely packed, and protected to prevent scratching, puncture, or folding during shipment. Do not fold across image area on progressive proofs.
