Coupling streptavidin to superparamagnetic microspheres simplifies almost all biopurification, bioconcentration or immunoassay applications. The beads are separated from the aqueous phase with a simple magnet (see picture), no centrifugation is required.
 Merck Chimie SAS supplies Streptavidin Magnetic Beads with Molecular Biology Grade (Nuclease & Protease Free) and a high binding capacity >1800pmol of free biotin/mg of beads, optimized for use with antibodies, cells, DNA or RNA, bacteria, etc. Sizes vary from 150nm to 3 µm in diameter.
